Porsche projects range from 911 and 718 sports cars to the Cayenne, Macan and Taycan — with different bolt patterns, center-lock hubs on some variants, large brake packages and staggered sizing on most sports cars. This guide covers what we check before quoting custom forged wheels for a Porsche and what information to send.
Important: this page is a sourcing and specification guide, not a fitment guarantee. Every set is checked against your vehicle data and an approved drawing before production.
Porsche Reference Specifications (Confirm by VIN)
The values below are common reference points used to start a brief. Model year, market, trim and brake package can change them — confirm against the VIN, the original wheel markings or a measured hub.
| Platform | PCD | Center bore | Fastener | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 911 (991 / 992), 718 Cayman / Boxster | 5×130 | 71.6 mm | M14x1.5 lug bolts | Several GT and Turbo variants use center-lock hubs |
| Cayenne (9Y0 / 9Y3) | 5×130 | 71.6 mm | M14x1.5 lug bolts | Heavy SUV; load rating is critical |
| Taycan | 5×130 | 71.6 mm | M14x1.5 lug bolts | Heavy EV; check load and TPMS |
| Macan (95B) | 5×112 | 66.5 mm | M14x1.5 lug bolts | Different pattern from other Porsche models |
Brake Clearance
Porsche offers standard, larger sport and ceramic-composite (PCCB) brake systems, and caliper size changes between them. A design that clears a base Carrera caliper may not clear a GT or Turbo package.
We check spoke back-profile and inner barrel clearance for the chosen diameter; large calipers can rule out smaller diameters or very deep faces.
- Brake package name (standard, sport, carbon-ceramic, etc.)
- Caliper clearance template or caliper photo with measurements, if available
- Minimum wheel diameter the brake package accepts
- Spoke profile and barrel shape you want — deep concave faces need more checking
Load Rating and Vehicle Weight
The Cayenne and Taycan are heavy vehicles, and the Taycan carries battery weight low in the chassis. Load rating is agreed per wheel size for the actual axle load, not copied from a lighter model.
Send the gross vehicle weight or axle load from the door placard. The target load rating is agreed per wheel size and confirmed on the drawing; where FEA or testing is in scope, the quotation states the inputs, the SKU covered and the report delivered. See load rating, JWL, VIA and TÜV explained.
Front/Rear Sizing (Staggered Setups)
The 911 and 718 normally run wider, often larger rear wheels. Front and rear are separate SKUs with their own ET, width and tire size, so they are quoted and inspected separately.
For SUVs such as the Cayenne, square setups are more common, but the ET and width still need checking against suspension and fender clearance.
ET, Width and Center Bore
Send the stock ET and width for both axles and the target values. Small ET changes matter on a 911 because of tight rear fender clearance.
Most Porsche models use a 71.6 mm center bore; the Macan (95B) uses 66.5 mm. Forged wheels are normally machined hub-centric to the exact bore.
Use our wheel offset calculator, PCD calculator and center bore calculator for a first check, then send the numbers for review.
Center-Lock Porsche Models
Center-lock hubs use a single central nut and a different wheel center design, torque procedure and safety components. They cannot be converted from a 5-lug drawing by changing the PCD. Tell us clearly whether your car is 5-lug or center-lock; center-lock projects need their own engineering review and are quoted separately.
What to Send for a Porsche Forged Wheel Quote
- Vehicle, model year, trim and market (VIN if possible)
- Brake package and any aftermarket brake upgrade
- Wheel diameter and width, front and rear
- Target ET (offset) front and rear, and any spacers planned
- PCD, center bore and fastener type (bolts, nuts or center-lock)
- Tire size front and rear
- Wheel construction: monoblock, 2-piece or 3-piece
- Design reference, finish and branding
- Quantity (sets) and destination country
- 5-lug or center-lock hub
MOQ, lead time and shipping terms are confirmed in the written quotation: MOQ by design, size, SKU, finish and packaging; some projects have a 20–25 day production target counted from confirmation of drawing, specifications, finish and production slot; DDP only after destination, importer of record, duties and taxes are confirmed.
Porsche Forged Wheel FAQ
Can one wheel design cover a 911 and a Cayenne?
The styling can be shared, but PCD is the same (5×130) while width, ET, load rating and diameter differ, so each vehicle needs its own drawing and SKU.
Do you make center-lock Porsche wheels?
Center-lock projects need a separate engineering review and are quoted only after the hub, nut and safety-component requirements are confirmed.
Can you clear PCCB brakes?
Often yes, but only after caliper clearance is checked for the chosen diameter and spoke design.
