Range Rover projects are usually about large-diameter forged wheels on a very heavy luxury SUV. That makes load rating, tire load index and suspension clearance more important than on most cars. This guide covers what we check before quoting custom forged wheels for a Range Rover, Range Rover Sport or Defender, and what information to send.
Important: this page is a sourcing and specification guide, not a fitment guarantee. Every set is checked against your vehicle data and an approved drawing before production.
Range Rover Reference Specifications (Confirm by VIN)
The values below are common reference points used to start a brief. Model year, market, trim and brake package can change them — confirm against the VIN, the original wheel markings or a measured hub.
| Platform | PCD | Center bore | Fastener | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Range Rover (L405 / L460), Range Rover Sport (L494 / L461) | 5×120 (common) | 72.6 mm (common) | M14x1.5 lug bolts | Very heavy; large sizes common |
| Defender (L663) | 5×120 (common) | 72.6 mm (common) | M14x1.5 lug bolts | Off-road use changes design priorities |
| Range Rover Velar / Evoque | Different pattern | Different bore | Confirm by VIN | Do not reuse Range Rover data |
Brake Clearance
Range Rover models are offered with different brake sizes, and high-performance versions use larger calipers. Clearance is checked for the chosen diameter and spoke design, especially on flat-faced or deep concave designs.
- Brake package name (standard, sport, carbon-ceramic, etc.)
- Caliper clearance template or caliper photo with measurements, if available
- Minimum wheel diameter the brake package accepts
- Spoke profile and barrel shape you want — deep concave faces need more checking
Load Rating and Vehicle Weight
A full-size Range Rover is one of the heaviest vehicles we build wheels for. The wheel load rating is agreed per size for the axle load from the door placard, and tires must carry a matching load index. Large 22- and 23-inch sizes do not change the load requirement — they make the engineering check more important.
Send the gross vehicle weight or axle load from the door placard. The target load rating is agreed per wheel size and confirmed on the drawing; where FEA or testing is in scope, the quotation states the inputs, the SKU covered and the report delivered. See load rating, JWL, VIA and TÜV explained.
Front/Rear Sizing (Staggered Setups)
Range Rover projects are almost always square setups so tires can be rotated. Width and ET must suit both axles and the air-suspension travel at every ride height.
ET, Width and Center Bore
Send the stock ET, width and tire size, plus the target values. Wider wheels with lower ET can contact the fender or suspension at full lock or in off-road height.
Many recent Range Rover models use a 72.6 mm center bore; forged wheels are machined hub-centric to the confirmed bore.
Use our wheel offset calculator, PCD calculator and center bore calculator for a first check, then send the numbers for review.
Air Suspension, TPMS and Off-Road Use
Tell us whether the vehicle uses air suspension and if it is driven off-road. Off-road use changes the lip profile, finish choice and load margin we recommend. Factory TPMS sensors are normally reused; valve hole position is confirmed on the drawing.
What to Send for a Range Rover Forged Wheel Quote
- Vehicle, model year, trim and market (VIN if possible)
- Brake package and any aftermarket brake upgrade
- Wheel diameter and width, front and rear
- Target ET (offset) front and rear, and any spacers planned
- PCD, center bore and fastener type (bolts, nuts or center-lock)
- Tire size front and rear
- Wheel construction: monoblock, 2-piece or 3-piece
- Design reference, finish and branding
- Quantity (sets) and destination country
- Suspension type and any lift or lowering
MOQ, lead time and shipping terms are confirmed in the written quotation: MOQ by design, size, SKU, finish and packaging; some projects have a 20–25 day production target counted from confirmation of drawing, specifications, finish and production slot; DDP only after destination, importer of record, duties and taxes are confirmed.
Range Rover Forged Wheel FAQ
Can I fit 23-inch forged wheels to a Range Rover?
Large sizes can be quoted, but load rating, tire availability and suspension clearance are confirmed on the drawing before we commit to a size.
Is the Defender the same fitment as the Range Rover?
Many current models share a common pattern and bore, but width, ET and use case differ, so each vehicle is confirmed separately by VIN.
Do you guarantee fitment?
We review your vehicle data against the drawing before production. Final fitment is confirmed on the approved drawing and, where needed, a test fit.
